Capital of Uttar Pradesh (India's largest state), Lucknow is a multi-cultural city that is also known as the city of Regals and The Constantinople of India. The city flourished as a cultural and artistic capital of North India in the 18th and 19th centuries; today, Lucknow event venues play host to groups seeking the allure of traditional India (with modern conveniences).
Lucknow is accessed by Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport (LKO), the second-busiest in North India after Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. LKO is is served by many international and domestic carriers and offers nonstop flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Patna; a new terminal was opened middle of 2012. LKO is also 11 kilometers (or 6.8 miles) from Lucknow Railway Station.

But for groups that want to get away from it all, a trip outside the city to the Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary (35 kilometers away) can be part of an extraordinary excursion from Lucknow. The park is a major hub for migratory birds during November to March, when many species of migratory birds from as far as Europe and Siberia come here.
