Perched on the banks of the River Liffey and designed by Pritzker award-winning architect Kevin Roche, the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) sits within steps of city center hotels, restaurants and attractions, as well as six miles from Dublin Airport. Opened in September 2010, CCD is Ireland's first purpose-built international conference and event venue, as well as the first carbon neutral international convention center. Delegates enter CCD's unique glass-fronted atrium, with windows that run the full height of the building, affording panoramic views of Dublin Bay, the River Liffey, Dublin's city center and the Dublin Mountains. CCD houses 4,500 square meter of exhibition space and space for up to 3,000 delegates throughout 22 meeting rooms and halls, including a 2,000-person auditorium, as well as the 2,721-square-meter The Forum and 17,760-square-foot The Liffey halls. Meeting amenities include state-of-the-art equipment, communications, lighting, sound, rigging and IT capabilities, as well as catering services, external teambuilding space and plenty of natural daylight. Delegates are less than 10 minutes from Dublin's two main railway stations, near Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) suburban rail service and adjacent to Luas light rail service.
