Located in the downtown area within walking distance from two Hotel Zones (the Center Zone contains 2,630 rooms and the Valle Zone contains 5,920), Centro Convex combines modern installations with a touch of warmth and elegance, surrounding an ample inner-garden, with 8 floors of event space totaling 60,000 square meter. The Convex Center is an ISO 9001: 2002 Certified convention and exposition venue, offering exposition space divided into three floors and spans 57,000 square feet, with a capacity of some 86 booths (36 sq. ft.), as well as 69,000 square feet of convention space. Monterrey's Convex Center has made green initiatives in recent years, applying a range of measures to encourage sustainability such as the use of biodegradable products, energy controls and automatic lighting systems. The Convex Center's restaurant, El Quijote del Centro Convex, caters to conference attendees and can provide in-house catering for up to 5,000 participants. In terms of IT, the conference center provides high-speed wireless internet with a connection of 100 Mbps for up to 2,300 people, as well as a Local Area Network (LAN), VOIP and videoconferencing. All of the conference rooms and expo halls have integrated audio-visual installations and there are 18 LCD screens in the lobbies to provide participants with information about the event. Twelve 30-foot columns line Cintermex's 198,000-square-foot exhibition hall, which can hold up to 1,055 booths or be divided into 6 independent halls. The center also provides a 59,000-square-foot convention hall which can be divided into 19 rooms for meetings or conventions which can hold from 8 to 2,200 people. VIP rooms as well as conference rooms overlooking the exhibition floor are available. Audio-visual equipment, such as microphones, stage lighting, screens, video projectors and podiums, are available for rent from the center. Cintermex provides technical support, as well as electrical and plumbing services. Cintermex has two restaurants, as well as a catering service, which can handle groups ranging from 10 to 10,000 participants. A spacious vestibule surrounding the convention area provides an ideal space for coffee and cocktail breaks.
