Zurich Transport Network (ZVV)

Zurich is known to have one of the best public transportation systems in the world, and the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV) serves as the tariff and transportation network for local public transport, as well as transport in neighboring regions. ZVV offers train, bus, boat, and tram travel; in the city, travelers can find a bus or tram stop at intervals of around 300 meters. The ZurichCARD makes travel easy, as it offers unlimited travel by tram, bus, rail, boat and cable car throughout Zurich and its surrounding area; it even includes travel between Zurich Airport and the city, an excursion up the Uetliberg (Zurich's local mountain), and boat rides on Lake Zurich and the River Limmat.

Swiss Federal Railways (SBB)

Serving as Switzerland's national railway company, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) carries more than 300 million passengers each year, as well as links Switzerland to the European high-speed network. SBB operates 9,000 passenger trains each day on its 3,000-kilometer route network.
