Known for its welcoming and casual atmosphere, pedestrian-friendly Breckenridge is home to a world-class ski resort, the largest historic district in Colorado and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space amongst a variety of unique and conference venues. From its free in-town transportation that makes it easy to explore Main Street shopping and dining to its year-round team building and group activities, Breckenridge is an ideal meeting location nestled in the heart of the Central Rocky Mountains and just 90 miles west of Denver.


Most Breckenridge visitors fly into Denver International Airport, which is situated less than two hours away. Known as one of the world’s greenest airports, Denver International features a peaked roof made out of Teflon-coated fiberglass material that resembles snow-capped mountains. As the fifth-busiest airport in the U.S., Denver International accommodates nonstop services to more than 170 destinations worldwide, including major markets in the U.S., Germany, Iceland, the UK, Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica. At the airport, meeting delegates can hop aboard shuttle service to Breckenridge, which starts at $45 per person one-way. Once in Breckenridge, delegates can ride the Breckenridge Free Ride bus system, which runs daily throughout town limits. The system operates along eight color-coded routes and connects to Summit Stage, the free bus system for Summit County.


A major Breckenridge conference center and lodging option, Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center is easily accessed along Breckenridge Free Ride’s Blue, Green, Yellow, Gray and Brown routes. Situated at the base of Breckenridge Ski Area’s Peak 9 and adjacent to White River National Forest, the ski-in/ski-out, 525-room Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center sits within a five-minute walk of Breckenridge’s Main Street and houses 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting space for up to 1,000 guests. Event spaces range from 23 meeting rooms, including three ballrooms measuring 7,200 square feet, 5,400 square feet and 2,778 square feet, and two boardrooms, to the 4,000-square-foot outdoor Summer Event Tent. Delegates have access to outdoor decks and courtyards, as well as audio-visual and catering services. Resort amenities range from free in-town shuttle service to indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, ski school and on-site dining.


Other hotel venues in Breckenridge include the 208-room Village at Breckenridge, with 25,000 square feet in 16 meeting rooms; the 208-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Breckenridge, which has 9,000 square feet in 12 meeting rooms; and the intimate 45-room Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge, with 4,000 square feet in 5 meeting rooms.


Aside from its Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center, Breckenridge is home to a variety of unique venues perfect for group gatherings and events. Built in 1993 by the town of Breckenridge as a performing arts facility and reopened in 2008 after a renovation project, the Riverwalk Center is known for its excellent acoustics, concerts, theater productions and private event capabilities. The 8,554-square-foot facility can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for cocktail receptions, 770 guests for theater-style events and 250 guests for banquets. Groups of up to 100 people can gather at the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre, home to the county’s oldest community and professional theater. Converted from an old watering hole, the tiered-seating theater also features a cocktail reception area in front of the building.


Groups of up to 100 people can surround themselves with colorful glass art at the Fox Ridge Fine Art Glass Gallery, an elegant, sophisticated space situated at the heart of Breckenridge. Also along Breckenridge’s Main Street, TEAL Art Gallery showcases contemporary art that pushes the envelope in originality, as well as welcoming groups for private events and workshops. For a luxurious take on “roughing it,” the BOEC Scott Griffith Lodge features 2,500 square feet of meeting space or overnight accommodations for up to 22 guests. Situated amongst a dense pine forest, the lodge overlooks Old Town Reservoir and sits less than 100 yards from the trail to Snowflake Lift. A true group adventure awaits at Country Boy Mine, a historic, restored mining site that welcomes groups to venture 1,000 feet into the mountain to tour and gold-pan. Located just two miles east of downtown Breckenridge, Country Boy Mine features campfire events, as well as opportunities to slide down the 55-foot ore chute, view its mining exhibits and equipment and visit its general store.
