Island of Kauai

Hawaii's fourth largest island, as well as the oldest and northernmost in the Hawaiian chain, Kauai is often called the "Garden Isle," thanks to its verdant valleys, mountain spires, tropical rainforests, enchanting waterfalls, and serene rivers. The island's natural beauty makes it a recreation paradise for a diversity of activities including ziplining, horseback riding, ATV tours, river and ocean kayaking, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, and just relaxing on the island's many beaches. Kauai's laid-back vibe, rich culture, accessibility, and welcoming small towns and resort areas make it a fantastic meeting and leisure travel spot. Meeting participants can choose from five major resort destinations on the island, including North Shore (Princeville), East Side (Royal Coconut Coast), Lihue (Kalapaki), South Shore (Poipu), and West Side (Waimea).

Kauai is accessible via the southeastern coast's Lihue Airport, which serves interisland, domestic, and overseas flights. From the airport, travelers have direct access to the island's public Kauai Bus system, or can opt to rent a car to explore the island. About 80 percent of the island is inaccessible by car.

Perched along the island's sunny South Shore about 30 minutes from Lihue Airport, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa serves as a fantastic place to stay, as well as a major meeting destination on the island. The Kauai Bus stops at the resort and pre-arranged shuttle service between the airport and resort is available. The 602-room resort features onsite restaurants, shops, entertainment, recreation, and a spa, as well as 65,000 square feet of beachfront meeting and event space. Meeting participants can gather at the resort's 25,000-square-foot meeting venue, which includes a 14,000-square-foot ballroom, collection of meeting rooms, and boardroom, or among its 40,000 square feet of outdoor space scattered throughout the resort's lush gardens.
