Kahului Airport (OGG)
Kahului Airport, Maui's main airport, is located on the northern edge of the island between Haleakala and the West Maui Mountains, just three miles east of the town Kahului. Spanning 1,391 acres, the airport consists of two intersecting runways and one terminal with 40 gates on two concourses. Kahului Airport operates nearly 151,000 domestic overseas and inter-island commercial flights per year and sees more than six million passengers annually.
Opened in 1990, the airport is currently undergoing a $365 million expansion with the intent to elevate the airport to international status in the next decade. Renovations include an extended ticketing lobby, new baggage claim carousels, a new cargo building and apron and the construction of 10 additional jetways. The airport will also be realigned with Haleakala Highway, allowing for easy passenger access to Maui's major roadway.

Maui Public Bus Transit System Line
The Maui Public Bus Transit System's fleet of 30 buses services Maui's central, south, west, Haiku and Upcountry communities. The transit system operates 12 no-transfer bus routes and eight commuter bus routes. The Kahului Airport may be accessed on both the Haiku Islander route and Upcountry route, while the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa is on the Kihei Islander route.
Most routes run daily from 7 a.m. to midnight. One-way fare ranges from free to $2 depending on the route taken. Monthly passes may be purchased for $25 for access to a single route, or $45 for access to all routes.

From the airport, taxi fare rates average $87 to Kaanapali; $13 to Kahului Town; $105 to Kapalua; $45 to Kihei; $74 to Lahaina; $33 to Maalea; $65 to Makena; $57 to Wailea.
