Craven Area Rural Transit System (CARTS) operates throughout Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties, serving the general public with an emphasis on the elderly and handicapped. CARTS’ fleet of 32 vehicles includes 19 handicapped-modified vans, five standard vans, five mini-buses and three sedans. Service is available to the general public on an reservation and space available basis, with fares ranging from $1 to $6.75 according to zoned distances. CARTS runs Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 6 PM.
