York is within a two-hour drive of three international airports, including Harrisburg International Airport, Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Philadelphia International Airport. Harrisburg International sits within 30 miles of York and offers daily nonstop service to 14 destinations and one-stop connections to cities around the world. Situated within 65 miles of York, Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport runs 66 nonstop destinations in the United States and 10 nonstop international destinations. Located within a two-hour drive of York, Philadelphia International Airport spans seven terminal buildings with 120 gates. Ranked as the ninth-busiest airport in the world, Philadelphia International serves as the international hub for US Airways and provides service to more than 120 domestic and international destinations. Once in York, visitors can hop aboard rabbittransit, which provides daily bus service throughout York, Adams and Northumberland Counties. Rabbittransit operates 15 routes throughout York County and provides direct service to the York Expo Center.
From its multi-faceted York Expo Center to its variety of hotels and meeting facilities, York is well positioned to fulfill meeting, convention and event needs. The York Expo Center offers more than 300,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space spread throughout a 120-acre fenced and gated complex. The 74,000-square-foot Toyota Arena serves as an ideal destination for trade and consumer shows, banquets, concerts, livestock shows and motor sport events. Additional meeting spaces range from the 10,000-square-foot Banquet Center to the 29,264-square-foot Memorial Hall West.
Unique venues found throughout the York area include historic theatres, a professional baseball stadium, golf resort and recreation-rich mountain resort, among many others. A leading regional arts center, the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in historic downtown York presents Broadway productions as well as comedy, live music and family shows. The five-building complex includes two historical theaters, lounges, a dance studio, a multi-purpose room and a boardroom, all available for private rentals.
Many of York's unique venues can host group events and outdoor gatherings. Home of the York Revolution professional baseball team, the family- and event-friendly Sovereign Bank Stadium accommodates groups in its suites, breakout rooms, classrooms and 500-person picnic pavilion.
