Memphis
Nicknamed the “boutique meetings capital of the Southeast,” Memphis beckons meeting planners with its central location, affordability and undeniable appeal as a leisure destination. Memphis’ reputation as a leading leisure destination has much to do with the city’s status as a capital for legendary and live music, civil rights sites and world-renowned food. As of 2021, the city is also home to the fully transformed Renasant Convention Center, several thousand new hotel rooms and the brand-new Memphis Sports and Events Center.

Weather and Seasonality
Memphis experiences four distinct seasons, ranging from sun-soaked summer months to crisp winters without much snow. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit the city, as temperatures are mild, though visitors should be aware of strong thunderstorms that can interfere with outdoor plans during this time of the year. Summers can be humid, as warm, wet air comes up from the Gulf of Mexico. Winter temperatures, by contrast, are often below freezing.
