Wichita Falls Travel and Things to Do Guide

Wichita Falls, Texas is your new favorite North Texas destination, not just for grand meetings, but also for events of all sizes.

Regardless of your preferred method of transportation, travel to and from the city is always stress-free. Located between Dallas/Fort Worth and Oklahoma City, motorists can arrive from any direction via I-44, State Route 79, and US Highways 82, 281, 277, or 287. Prefer to fly? The Wichita Falls Regional Airport provides daily flights connecting to and from DFW. Make “Jenny” a member of your welcoming committee, and stop by the Jenny to Jet exhibit proudly displayed in the airport lobby.

The Multi-Purpose Event Center (MPEC) offers not just the space, but also the flexibility to accommodate large groups and specialty events. Boasting 58,000 square feet of customizable exhibit space, 10 meeting rooms, and a 216 seat lecture hall, the Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall is a go-to venue for tradeshows, general sessions, break-out meetings, conventions, banquets, and much more. Next door, the Kay Yeager Coliseum is the cornerstone of the MPEC featuring permanent seating for 6,500, with the option to include an additional 3,500. Attending a concert, hometown hockey game, or your special event is always an exceptional experience when viewed from one of the luxury suites. Home to rodeos and horse shows, kart races, a yearly Pancake Festival, and anything in between, the 50,000 square foot J.S. Bridwell Agricultural Center completes the MPEC. All three venues look out over the five-and-a-half-acre Festival Park, offering the perfect North Texas backdrop.

Smaller groups have the option to choose from a number of banquet facilities like the Hamilton Ballroom. Built in the 1920's, this magnificent venue sits high atop the historic Hamilton Building in downtown Wichita Falls. Two stories tall with hand painted exposed beams, original hardwood floors, a large fireplace, and windows stretching nearly to the ceiling, the Ballroom offers sweeping views of the city during daytime meetings and evening receptions alike.

Take a short five-minute walk from either venue to find yourself in Wichita Falls' ever-evolving Downtown. Discover favorite local restaurants, art galleries, history museums, shopping, theater, and nightlife. Find your own piece of “Falls Town Flair” in our vintage stores, take in the sights from the top of the Littlest Skyscraper, and catch a show in one of our historic theatres, before a night of cold drinks and live music.

Best of all, the Wichita Falls Convention and Visitor Bureau is always here to make your job easier by arranging site visits, planning tours and events for your group, and assisting with room blocks. There is always a representative onsite throughout your meeting to ensure that everything goes exactly as you planned, so you can get back to enjoying your new favorite North Texas Destination.

We invite you to find yourself in Wichita Falls!
