The Charlottesville Amtrak station is located at 810 West Main Street, along the city's Free Trolley route. The station provides service along the Cardinal/Hoosier State route, which runs from New York through Chicago three days a week, as well as the Northeast Regional route, which provides downtown-to-downtown service up and down the Northeast Corridor, and the Crescent route, which runs daily from New York to New Orleans. The Amtrak station is open daily from 6 AM to 9:30 PM.
Charlottesville Area Transit
Operating 15 routes and its Free Trolley service, Charlottesville Area Transit provides public bus service throughout the greater Charlottesville area. Buses run Monday through Saturday from 6:15 AM to 6:45 PM, with select routes offering night service from 6:45 to 11:45 PM. Route 7 runs Sunday from 7:45 AM to 5:42 PM. Bus fare is $0.75 per ride; passengers can purchase a day pass for $1.50 and a monthly pass for $20. Passengers age 5 and under ride free.

Operated by Charlottesville Area Transit, the Free Trolley runs in a figure eight configuration, serving major attraction areas, historic downtown, the Downtown Mall, West Main and the Amtrak and Greyhound stations. The Free Trolley runs daily every 15 minutes, with Monday and Saturday service from early morning to nearly midnight and Sunday service until 5:40 PM.
Greyhound
The Charlottesville Greyhound station is located at 310 West Main Street, along the city's Free Trolley ride. The station is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM and 8:30 to 9:30 PM. Greyhound also operates a bus stop at the city's Amtrak station.
