Hampton Roads Transit Bus System
The Hampton Roads Transit system serves Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach along fixed route bus, light rail and ferry systems. Hampton is served by 13 fixed bus routes, seven commuter bus routes and one express bus route that connects to The Tide, the light rail system that provides service to Norfolk. Hampton visitors can reach Newport News Williamsburg International Airport along Route 111. Buses operate Monday through Saturday. One-way bus fare is $1.50 for adults and $1 for children under 18. A one-day pass costs $3.50, while a bundle of five one-day passes costs $16.50, a seven-day pass costs $17 and a 30-day pass costs $50. Children under 38 inches tall ride free.

Amtrak
Located six miles from Hampton, the Newport News Amtrak station serves the Northeast Regional line, which provides daily service up and down the Northeast corridor. The station is located at 9304 Warwick Boulevard and operates Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 8 PM, Friday from 7:30 AM to 10:15 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 AM to 9:15 PM.

Hampton's Greyhound station is located at 2 West Pembroke Avenue. Station hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 AM, 1:30 to 3 PM and 6 to 9 PM.
