There are 5 vineyards within a short drive. The Brethren and Mennonite Heritage Center is a popular stop for visitors wanting to learn more about the early settlers of the Shenandoah Valley. Their site has an authentic one room school house, shoemaker's shop, iron forge, period homes and much more from the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st century.

Harrisonburg enjoys a lovely spring with red bud trees, spring flowers and flowering trees. Lush fields surround the City throughout the summer and autumn ushers in beautiful golden fields and a lovely range of fall folliage from gold to red.
