Valley Metro
Valley Metro serves the Roanoke Valley via fixed route service, and special event shuttles, with regular service running Monday through Saturday. Valley Metro's Smart Way commuter bus links the Roanoke Valley, and New River Valley, with stops at Virginia Tech, and Roanoke Regional Airport, for $4 each way, while Valley Metro's Smart Way connector bus takes passengers to the Amtrak station in Lynchburg. Fixed route cash fare is $1.50 per passenger, with a weekly unlimited pass for $14 per passenger.

Star Line Trolley
Operated by Valley Metro, the Star Line Trolley provides free transport to shops, businesses, restaurants, and hotels between downtown Roanoke, and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The trolley runs Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm.

Amtrak
Situated about 55 miles outside of Roanoke, the Lynchburg Amtrak station at 825 Kemper Street operates daily from 5 am to 1 pm, and 4 pm to midnight. The station provides access to the Northeast Regional line, which runs daily between Boston, and Virginia Beach, and the Crescent line, which runs daily between New York City, and New Orleans. Valley Metro's Smart Way connector bus provides service from the Roanoke region to the Lynchburg Amtrak station.
