The La Crosse Center is the region's foremost meetings and convention facility and offers 100,000 square feet of total space and a 7,500-seat arena on the banks of the Upper Mississippi. The center has earned the Wisconsin Society of Architects' Award for Excellence in Architecture for its flexible design. The arena is frequently used for sporting events, concerts and ice shows, but its 21,000 square feet of floor space can also be combined with the center's 15,000 square-foot North Hall to create one grand hall. A separate South Hall offers 39,000 square feet of exhibit space, for a total of 75,000 square feet among the three. Ceilings in the North and South Halls are 45 feet high.Five separate meeting rooms add another 9,000 square feet of space that can be divided into as many as nine rooms. Upstairs, the terrace level has what is perhaps the most coveted space: a 6,000-square-foot ballroom overlooking the Mississippi, alongside three additional board rooms and a conference room. There's an enclosed skywalk to the adjacent parking ramp, and many of downtown's best restaurants and attractions are within walking distance.
