La Crosse Municipal Airport (LSE)

The airport lies six miles north of downtown La Crosse, a 10- to 12-minute drive, on the north side of French Island in the Mississippi River. Two major airlines service the airport, American and Delta, with primary destinations being Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago-O'Hare and Detroit. They offer about 10 flights daily combined.

La Crosse Municipal has three gates and three runways and can accommodate the largest of commercial jets. Hertz, Avis and Alamo have rental counters within the terminal that are open seven days a week, as are the gift shop and a restaurant, Vinney’s Runway.

Municipal Transit Utility
La Crosse's Municipal Transit Utility runs 10 bus routes through La Crosse, French Island and Onalaska, Wisconsin, and La Crescent, Minnesota. The no. 7 bus picks up at La Crosse Municipal Airport and connects with the no. 6 bus to take visitors to the Grand River Station at Jay and Third streets in downtown La Crosse. The adult fare is $1.25.

Rental Cars
Hertz, Avis and Alamo have rental counters in the lower level of La Crosse Municipal Airport and are open seven days a week. Enterprise Rent-a-Car runs a shuttle from the airport to its downtown location for rental there.
