Hannover, Germany Meeting Planning Overview
Capital of the German state of Lower Saxony, Hannover is a city of half a million residents best known for hosting huge trade fairs and for Hannover MICE venues that boast spectacular Oktoberfests. Frequently spelled "Hanover," this city on the River Leine is diverse, young at heart, and one of Europe's most popular MICE destinations.
The city's main airport is the Hannover Airport, which is 20 minutes north of the city center and the ninth largest airport in Germany, featuring direct and connecting flights to major European cities and beyond.
Large meetings have no lack of places to convene in Hannover. Located just outside of the city is the spectacular Hannover Fairgrounds and Exhibition Grounds, which serves as the largest exhibition center in the world. Its striking architecture and grassy park-like areas complement its 29 halls and pavilions, fantastic public transportation connections, and more than five million square feet of covered indoor and open-air space.
