Welcome to Castello di San Marco charming hotel and SPA, a princely baroque residence dating back to the end of the 17 century. It stands on the Ionian sea, a few kilometers away from the romantic town of Taormina. Today the castle represents a place in which to relax and surround yourself in flourishing natural beauty whilst enjoying the exceptionally comforting atmosphere, within a hotel which prides itself in the highest quality services and attention to detail. The reception halls, the pergolas and the wine bar palmento, an original wine press at the heart of the castle which today has been converted into a unique wine lounge; are all finely decorated whilst maintaining a Sicilian baroque style. The castle’s communal areas encapsulate all the warmth and feeling of historical buildings with a modern elegance. The grand building is illuminated by warm, welcoming lights creating a soft and soothing light throughout. Our rooms meet the requirements of the finest 4-star hotels and offer a beautiful Mediterranean garden surroundings instead of the traditiona carpeted hallway.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
