The Dutch Quarter consists of 150 red, typically Dutch brick houses with white joints, partially curved gables and shutters.
It was built between 1734 and 1742 for Dutch workmen who were brought to Potsdam by the Soldier King Frederick William I. You can find a museum (Mittelstraße 8) there about the work of Johann Boumann, who directed the building of the quarter.
We recommend you to stroll through this part of the city to discover the shops and cozy cafés and restaurants.
