Het HOKUTEN NO OKA Lake Abashiri Tsuruga Resort ligt bovenop een prachtige heuvel met uitzicht op het Abashiri-meer en vertegenwoordigt een nieuw resortconcept dat een rustgevende designsfeer uitstraalt, geïnspireerd op de geschiedenis en cultuur van de noordelijke volkeren, wat romantiek uit vervlogen tijden bevordert. Gasten worden eerst verwelkomd in de warm ingerichte entreehal, ontworpen naar een traditioneel kuilhuis waarin het mysterieuze Okhotsk-volk ooit talloze generaties geleden woonde. Het interieur van het hotel wordt overal geaccentueerd met kunstwerken, houtsnijwerk en decoraties die een eerbetoon zijn aan de Okhotsk-cultuur. Het hotelpersoneel bedient gasten ook terwijl ze gekleed zijn in kleding die is geïnspireerd op traditionele Uilta-kleding.
