Das Schloss von Santa Barbara befindet sich auf dem Gipfel des Berges Benacantil, 166 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel. Es ist eine der größten mittelalterlichen Festungen Spaniens, von der aus Sie die Bucht von Alicante perfekt sehen können. Es hat drei Gehege auf unterschiedlichen Höhen und aus drei verschiedenen Epochen: In der höchsten Anlage („La Torreta“) befinden sich der Torre del Homenaje und die ältesten Überreste der Festung, die größtenteils aus dem 14. Jahrhundert stammen. Im mittleren Gehege befinden sich die wichtigsten Räume, die im 16. Jahrhundert erbaut wurden, wie zum Beispiel: - Die Philipp-II-Saal - Das Gardekorps - Der Patio de Armas - Die Bastion der Königin. Das untere Gehege stammt aus dem 18. Jahrhundert und beherbergt den sogenannten Revellín del Bon Repós. FREIER ZUGANG Das Schloss von Santa Barbara verfügt über eine kostenlose WLAN-Verbindung.
