The Alpbach Congress Centre, with its 2,200 square meters of floor space, is a fine example of the harmony that can be achieved with a refreshing combination of traditional and modern elements in contemporary architecture. With most of the structure embedded in the mountain slope, the design of the building represents a clear commitment to today's spirit of respect for the natural environment, combining the aesthetic benefits of a truly small footprint with meaningful advantages in energy savings. The main architectural feature is a spiral-shaped gallery with floor-to-ceiling glazing.
