Le Vila Galé Collection Alter Real - Equestrian Resort, Conference & Spa est un hôtel situé dans l'Alentejo, à Alter do Chão, au sein du haras d'Alter, le plus ancien du monde. Cet établissement 4 étoiles comprend 77 chambres, deux piscines extérieures pour adultes et une pour enfants, un spa Satsanga avec piscine intérieure chauffée, un restaurant « Inevitável » proposant une cuisine régionale et un bar « Dressage ». Il dispose également d'une bibliothèque, de deux salles de réunion et d'une salle de réception. Pour les occasions plus intimes, il dispose également d'un moulin à huile d'olive traditionnel entièrement restauré, avec un four à bois typique, et d'une boutique de vin, où l'hôtel organise souvent des dégustations de vin et d'huile d'olive de la région. Ce boutique-hôtel de l'Alentejo s'inspire de l'histoire du site et il n'est pas surprenant qu'il soit consacré au thème équestre. Abritant le cheval de race lusitanienne, l'Alter Stud Farm a été créé en 1748 par le roi D. John V et est considéré comme le plus ancien au monde à fonctionner sans interruption au même endroit. Vous pourrez y faire une visite guidée du haras, mais aussi faire l'expérience de l'équitation pour la première fois. La conduite en calèche, des leçons d'équitation et des promenades à cheval sont également proposées, tant pour les débutants que pour les amateurs. Une autre suggestion à ne pas manquer est la visite de la maison de fauconnerie et de son musée. Observez le vol des fauçons, essayez de « voler l'oiseau jusqu'au gant » et laissez-vous émerveiller par la magnificence de ces animaux.
