The Royal Palace of Pedralbes (in Catalan Palau Reial de Pedralbes) is a building located in the middle of a large garden area, in the District of Les Corts, in Barcelona and now the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean.   During 1919-1931 it was the residence of the Spanish Royal Family in their visits to the city. Currently the Palace houses the Ceramics Museum and the Museum of Decorative Arts. The Palace has its origin in the old farmhouse of Can Feliu, from the 17th century. The estate was acquired in 1862 by Count Eusebi Güell, together with neighboring Can Cuyàs de la Riera. Together they formed the large Güell estate (30,000 m2). The renovation of the Can Feliu tower was commissioned to the architect Joan Martorell, who built a Caribbean-style mansion, accompanied by a neo-Gothic chapel and surrounded by magnificent gardens. Later, Antoni Gaudí was commissioned to reform the house and build a fence wall and the goal pavilions.
