Crumlin Road Gaol, or otherwise known as the “Crum”, is a former prison located on the Crumlin Road in Belfast. The prison dates back to 1845 and is the only Victorian era prison remaining in Northern Ireland since 1996. The gaol closed its doors in 1996 and after its renovation, the gaol was re-opened and is now used as a conference centre and visitor attraction. Crumlin Road Gaol has a number of tours available to choose from including a paranormal tour, a Victorian tour and a daily guided tour. On these tours you will hear about old myths and legends of the gaol, as well as find out the real reason why the prison was closed. The Crumlin Road Gaol is only a 10 minute drive from our hotel and is definitely a family-favourite to explore!
