The Island of Bintan to the south of Singapore is full of history, marked by fallen empires and the spice trade. The Club Med Bintan Island has 311 rooms divided between small 3-storey buildings. Its tranquil bays were long used by the Orang Loaut pirates as a refuge. This is where Bintan Island, a haven of tranquillity and refinement combining modernity with Asian tradition, now nestles. From the terrace of the Panorama Bar, feast your eyes on the mass of lapis-lazuli blue, mother of pearl and emerald, from the infinity pool to the lush gardens. Ria Bintan is also a golfer's heaven, delighting in its proximity to the finest courses* in Asia.
