About us

The Golden Boar is a stunning 16th century coaching inn oozing charm and character with its original oak beams and open fires and offers superb food, quality ales and beautiful en-suite bed & breakfast accommodation. Located in the picturesque village of Freckenham, just 6 miles from the horse racing ‘capital’ Newmarket, and set in an acre of beautiful grounds overlooking the Suffolk countryside, The Golden Boar provides the ideal setting in which to escape the day-to-day world for a while. During the warmer summer months our superb beer garden is ideal for al fresco drinking and dining. We are able to accommodate any private functions or events such as business meetings, weddings or other family celebrations and we have a range of menus available designed by our head chef. However, we understand that each event is bespoke and special to you and so we would be delighted to develop a menu to suit your specific requirements. 

From an intimate 3-course meal for a small private party to a buffet for a large party we will make your occasion extra special.
