Monterey Sailing Monterey Bay Sailing is a professional sailing organization established in 1998 whose mission is to offer residents of the Monterey Peninsula communities and visitors an affordable opportunity to sail the central coast. Marine mammals seen frequently include grey, blue and humpback whales who blow, or breach as they migrate with their calves. Sea otters, dolphin and vocal sea lions enjoy one of the most pristine areas of the entire Pacific. On cruises, all sailors are offered a chance to take the helm and discover the grace and beauty of a boat under sail.

Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway

Historical Landmark
12 mi. away
The Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) has been an active and highly visible part of the Monterey Peninsula community. Since our beginning in 1957 when 62 local companies and scores of individuals offered their services and donations to make Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca a reality, SCRAMP has been a community effort. As a non-profit 501(c)4 organization, SCRAMP donates proceeds to local charities and civic organizations. We have grown from presenting a single motorsport event each year to producing five major events that draw visitors from around the world and seen by millions internationally on many broadcast channels. Originally part of the former Fort Ord military base, Laguna Seca was turned over to the County of Monterey in 1974, and designated the overall management responsibility to the Monterey County Parks Department. SCRAMP continues as the day-to-day management firm to oversee all aspects of the Monterey County-owned Laguna Seca Recreation Area (except the shooting range).
