Fisherman’s Wharf is a popular riverside commercial block on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Yuelu District, Changsha, north of Yinpenling Bridge. It is known as “Changsha Bund”. The complex consists of 23 standalone buildings featuring eight European architectural styles, with nearly 900 meters of riverfront. It is free to visit. By day, it is a great spot for photos with exotic European-style buildings. After sunset, the whole area lights up. It gathers restaurants, bars and live music venues, famous for Changsha’s signature crayfish, barbecue and local snacks. Visitors can enjoy river breeze, gorgeous Xiangjiang night view and authentic Hunan food.

Yuelu Mountain sits on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, Hunan Province. It is one of the 72 peaks of Mount Heng and a National 5A Tourist Attraction. Its highest peak, Yunlu Peak, is 300.8 meters above sea level. Famous as the cradle of Huxiang Culture, the mountain perfectly blends natural scenery and profound history. Yuelu Academy, built in 976 in the Northern Song Dynasty, is one of China’s Four Great Ancient Academies and now belongs to Hunan University. Aiwan Pavilion, one of China’s Four Great Pavilions, attracts countless visitors for its stunning red maple leaves in autumn. Besides, Lushan Temple, Yunlu Palace and martyrs’ tombs scatter across the mountain, representing the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and revolutionary culture. Standing on the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Changsha City and the Xiangjiang River. Entry to Yuelu Mountain is free of charge.
