The pathway to becoming Chattanooga’s favorite DMC. If you want to know where we came from, we’re going to have to go all the way back to the year 2000 (yep, we’ve been around for a while!). That’s when our company was founded in Tennessee, but back then we were known as Specialty Planners International (SPI). Our primary focus was on meeting and corporate incentive travel planning. It wasn’t long before we moved our headquarters to the glittering lights of Las Vegas, where we worked with corporate clients traveling all over the globe – everywhere from El Salvador to San Francisco. We loved our time under Vegas’ bright neon colors, but in 2014 the hills of Tennessee called us home. After moving our corporate headquarters back to Middle Tennessee, we expanded our offerings to include all DMC services. We found that having our trifecta of offerings made us truly unstoppable – DMC services, meeting planning, and incentive travel all under one umbrella. Our clients were thrilled! We like to keep things fresh, so we soon decided it was time for another change. That’s when we rebranded into Connect Event Group. We felt our new name really encompassed exactly what we do. We connect groups of people through strategic events, meetings, and trips. Along with the new brand, we also moved our company headquarters to beautiful Chattanooga, Tennessee. And the rest, as they say, is history. And that’s how we became the leading Chattanooga DMC!

I’m Craig Martin, a corporate magician and professional event entertainer specializing in interactive magic experiences for business events, conferences, and corporate gatherings. I help companies create engaging and memorable events through modern, high-impact magic designed to break the ice, increase audience interaction, and enhance guest engagement. My performances are ideal for corporate events and company parties, conferences and networking events, product launches and brand activations, gala dinners and VIP receptions, as well as trade shows and exhibitions. I offer both close-up (walkaround) magic and stage performances, each tailored to suit the tone, audience size, and goals of your event. Located in Rutledge Hill – just a few blocks south of Historic Broadway, in the heart of Downtown Nashville – Husk, from The Neighborhood Dining Group, is reinterpreting the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that begins in the rediscovery of heirloom products and redefines what it means to cook and eat in Nashville. At Husk, there are some rules about what can go on the plate. If it doesn’t come from the South, it’s not coming through the door. The resulting cuisine is not about rediscovering Southern cooking, but rather exploring the reality of Southern food. Seed-saving, heirloom husbandry, in-house pickling and charcuterie programs by Executive Chef Ben Norton and his culinary team are the basis of Husk’s cuisine. Husk Nashville, located at 37 Rutledge Street, was constructed into the side of a hill between 1879 and 1882 by Dr. John Bunyan Stephens. Its storied history includes serving as Mayor Richard Houston Dudley’s home, where he lived when elected in 1897. The area was settled by the Rutledge and Middleton families of Charleston who were descendants of two of the original South Carolina signers of the Declaration of Independence. Mayor Dudley added the Carriage House located on property in 1890–which will serve as a space to satisfy the restaurant’s culinary whims and host private/special events. The design of the Husk’s interior spaces enhances the building’s roots while demonstrating a sense of Southern style, modernity, energy, and cosmopolitan flair.

In 2018, we were three guys who saw where the market was headed—not enough bourbon supply driving demand through the roof and creating impossible allocations for us and our friends to get the good whiskey that had brought us together. One of our favorite past-times has been traveling all over the country and picking single-barrels with our friends, but that memory was vanishing quickly. So, we decided to do it our way, and invest in our own abilities to select single barrels. We bought our first batch of barrels in 2018, quite honestly, we did it so that we could continue the tradition of picking through good whiskey with our friends. Little did we know what would happen next. Well, the word got out... fast. People started talking about our barrels. It became so popular that friends were asking if they could pick a barrel of our stuff. February of 2020, we released our first single barrel rye - and people on social media made sure the rest was history. Soon, groups from all over the country were calling to ask to come pick a barrel for themselves. In March of 2021, it hadn't stopped... so much so that we had to open up our own distillery to house it all. And we're so glad we did, because now we get to share even more whiskey with enthusiasts and friends like you. When you’re in Nashville, come on by.
