About us

Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre is an international standard venue that showcases the very best of New Zealand. Located in the thriving centre of the South Island’s largest city – close to Christchurch International Airport – Te Pae Christchurch is ideally positioned to allow guests and delegates to enjoy an authentic experience of the city and the wider region. Carefully designed and purpose-built to respond to a full range of event requirements, the venue comprises an array of modern, flexible spaces: 24 meeting rooms, 1,400 seat auditorium, 200 booth exhibition hall, 1,000-seat riverside banquet room, VIP spaces and organiser offices. As the first of New Zealand’s new generation of convention centres, Te Pae Christchurch also features state-of the-art technology, ensuring it’s well equipped to host in-person, virtual or hybrid events. World-class restaurants, modern retail, business, leisure, innovation, and transport hubs are all nearby, and all situated only 20 minutes from the centre. Te Pae Christchurch is a premium boutique-style convention centre situated in the heart of New Zealand’s South Island. This international standard, beautifully designed facility can cater for conferences up to 2000 persons and is set in a prime central-city position on the banks of the Ōtākaro Avon River and within the centre of New Zealand’s newest City.

We have removed all single-sue plastics from our front-of-house operation and we are working towards being a 100% plastic free venue. Repurpose Surplus and recyclable items, including cardboard, pens, paper, bottle-caps, fabrics and bags are donated to local educational institutions and to a local charity that redistributes ‘creative junk’.
