About us

Fox & Hounds Country Hotel can be located in Chulmleigh, England. It is a retreat to nature where you can enjoy the outdoor life with a walk in the surrounding forest or join in with some of the best country sports in the UK right on our doorstep, with shooting and fishing breaks for you to enjoy. The hotel boasts some beautiful antiques and has undergone a gradual refurbishment over the last 3 years. Take a stroll down through the 6 acres of gardens to the beautiful River Taw. If you are lucky one of the locals might divulge where the otters are to be seen or if the salmon are leaping up Eggesford Bridge. The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel offers a peaceful and individual surrounding to provide the perfect setting for business meetings and conferences of various sizes. Our newly refurbished conference room can seat up to 100 (theatre stlye) and we also have a private function room with seating for up to 50 people ideal for smaller meetings. Our 6 acres of grounds are beautiful with the gazebo blooming with roses and clematis offering a lovely centerpiece. Our new Summer house allows outside ceremonies to take place on the lawn before Pimms and canapés - a perfect garden party. We have also enhanced the bridal suite this year - the NEW white 7 foot four poster is truly stunning! We have refurbished all our bedrooms in recent months and each one has it's own special character. Rear facing rooms look over our lovely garden and can see over to Heywood Forest and up to Eggesford Church.
