The Cathedral of Córdoba (Our Lady of the Assumption; Spanish: Nuestra Señora de la Asunción) is the central church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Córdoba, Argentina, and the oldest church in continuous service in Argentina. Construction on the original church, the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción began in 1598, and replaced a less permanent structure consecrated in 1580. Its early works were planned by architect Nicolás de Dios, public works director Gregorio Ferreira, and master mason Juan Rodríguez, who employed mostly indigenous artisans and laborers. Beams and rafters were planned by Mateo Domínguez, and Hernando Álvarez designed and oversaw installation of the roof's 30,000 mission tiles. Much of the initial structure was lost in a 1677 collapse. Ricardo González Merguete, a Jesuit architect, was commissioned to reinitiate works, and designed the new structural plans. Gian Battista Primoli provided the floor plan, a latin cross outline based on that of the Jesuit Church of the Gesù, in Rome. The incomplete church was inaugurated in 1709. Further additions included the cupola, designed by Franciscan Friar Vicente Muñoz, the Spanish Baroque façade and theNeoclassical portico were designed in 1729 by Italian architect Andrea Blanqui (who would design a number of other churches in what today is Argentina). The cathedral was consecrated by Bishop José Antonio de San Alberto in 1784, and the twin campaniles were completed in 1787. The cathedral is separated from the Córdoba Cabildo (colonial town hall, inaugurated in 1786), by the Santa Catalina Promenade. The ornate interior, overlooked by the sterling silver altar crafted in Colonial Peru, also includes a church tabernacle donated to the cathedral in 1804, as well as an extensive collection of silver and gold votive offerings. The interior was later decorated with frescoes andmurals painted in the early years of the 20th century by Emilio Caraffa, Carlos Camilloni, and Manuel Cardeñosa; a cast iron monument,Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) was installed above the portico in 1901. The Cathedral of Córdoba was declared a National Historic Mounment in 1941, and underwent extensive restoration works from 2007 to 2009.

The Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba (Spanish: Manzana Jesuítica y Estancias de Córdoba) are a former Jesuit reduction built by missionaries in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, named a World Heritage Site in 2000. The Manzana Jesuítica contains the University of Córdoba, one of the oldest in South America, the Monserrat Secondary School, a church, and residence buildings. To maintain such a project, the Jesuits operated six Estancias (residences) around the province of Córdoba, named Caroya, Jesús María, Santa Catalina, Alta Gracia, Candelaria and San Ignacio. The farm and the complex, started in 1615, had to be left by the Jesuits, following the 1767 decree by King Charles III of Spain that expelled them from the continent. They were then run by the Franciscans until 1853, when the Jesuits returned toThe Americas. Nevertheless, the university and the high-school were nationalized a year later. Each Estancia has its own church and set of buildings, around which towns grew, such as Alta Gracia, the closest to the Block. The Estancia San Ignacio no longer exists. The Jesuit Block and the Estancias can be visited by tourists; the Road of the Jesuit Estancias has around 250 kilometres of length. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who would later become pope Francis lived there.

The Evita Fine Arts Museum exhibits, a permanent exhibition, a selection of different pieces that constitute the patrimonial heritage of the Government of the Province of Cordoba, where you can see paintings by artists such as Emilio Caraffa, Antonio Segui, José Malanca or hands of Carlos Alonso Limited series; besides temporary samples scheduled throughout the year. The Ferreira Palace, the building that houses the museum, was opened in 1919, with drawings made by French architect Ernst-Paul Sanson who was assisted by René Sargent was the builder and the engineer Carlos Agote Buenos Aires. Both architectural design, as the ornamentation and decoration of the interior of the building is linked to the Empire style, from classical imprint. The neighborhood was developed from a place called The Abrojal in the nineteenth century. In 1862 the Plaza de Carretas, a market for traders, was created. In 1890, a complex of social housing was set up in the same place and occupied mostly by italian immigrants. Culture and social life developed around a store called Pepino House, now a museum and cultural center. In 1980 the social housing complex was restored and in the following years was converted into the so-called Paseo de las Artes, where today several fairs and craft work shops, the Latin American Craft Museum and some cultural centers are located . Consequently the neighborhood became a center of tourism, gastronomy and commerce.
