Nur 15 Kilometer nordwestlich des Stadtzentrums von Peking liegt ein ruhiger Rückzugsort neben dem Osttor des ikonischen Sommerpalastes. Der Aman Summer Palace in Peking ist in einer Reihe von Pavillons untergebracht, die über ein Jahrhundert alt sind, und bietet seinen Gästen einen beispiellosen Zugang zu vier UNESCO-Welterbestätten, darunter dem Sommerpalast, der Verbotenen Stadt, der Chinesischen Mauer und dem Himmelstempel. Der ursprüngliche Komplex wurde von Gästen des Sommerpalastes genutzt, die zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts auf eine Audienz bei der Kaiserinwitwe Cixi warteten. Ästhetische Referenzen beziehen sich auf die Region und die Kaiserzeit, und Möbel und Accessoires werden aus traditionellen Materialien gefertigt.
