Camp Nou war seit der offiziellen Eröffnung am 24. September 1957 die Heimat des FC Barcelona. Das Barça-Stadion Camp Nou ersetzte den ehemaligen FC Barcelona von Les Corts, der eine Kapazität von nur 48.000 Zuschauern hatte und für die Fans der damaligen Mannschaft des legendären ungarischen Stars Ladislao Kubala zu klein wurde. Das Stadion Camp Nou wurde von 1955 bis 1957 erbaut. Ursprünglich lautete der offizielle Name „Estadi del FC Barcelona“, aber bald erhielt es den Spitznamen „Camp Nou“ (das „neue Stadion“). Dieser Name wurde erst in der Saison 2000/2001 nach einer Briefwahl der Klubmitglieder offiziell bekannt gegeben und seitdem ist „Camp Nou“ der offizielle Name des Stadions. Fassungsvermögen: Die aktuelle Kapazität beträgt 99.354 und ist damit das größte Stadion Europas. Als es 1957 zum ersten Mal eröffnet wurde, betrug die Kapazität 93.053 Zuschauer. Diese Zahl wurde später für die FIFA-Weltmeisterschaft 1982 auf 120.000 erhöht.
