Das 1902 in der Belle Epoque-Ära erbaute Schloss wurde unter der Schirmherrschaft Ihrer kaiserlichen und königlichen Hoheit Maria Klotild von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha zum sozialen Zentrum Budapests ausgebaut. Sie träumte von den Zwillingspalästen im Herzen Budapests, um diejenigen, die die Elisabethbrücke betreten, als anmutige Frau zu begrüßen.
