In einer kleinen Bucht so nah am Meer gelegen, dass das Wasser das Gebäude bei Flut sogar umspült, ist die Lage dieses schönen Beispiels des Revivalismus ebenso reizvoll wie sein Inhalt. Zu den Ausstellungen des Museums gehören eine beeindruckende Kunstsammlung, seltene indo-portugiesische Möbelstücke, einige prähistorische archäologische Überreste und eine Bibliothek, die für ihr illuminiertes Manuskript aus dem Jahr 1505 und einige reich gebundene Bände aus dem 17. Jahrhundert bekannt ist.
Der Palast wurde 1897 von Jorge O'Neill nach einem Entwurf von Luigi Magnini erbaut, dem Schöpfer einiger wichtiger neomanuelinischer Revivalismusprojekte wie dem Bussaco Palace Hotel in Zentralportugal und der Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra. Das Gebäude wurde vom bekannten Maler und Architekten Francisco Vilaça weiterentwickelt.
Bei einem Spaziergang durch den umliegenden Marechal Carmona Park gelangen Sie zu einer kleinen Kapelle, einigen wunderschön bemalten Azulejo-Fliesen und einem kleinen Zoo.

Boca do Inferno
Boca do Inferno ist einer der faszinierendsten Orte in Cascais. Sein Name bezieht sich auf die Größe und schiere Wucht der riesigen Wellen, die im Winter diese Küsten treffen. Boca do Inferno heißt wörtlich übersetzt Höllenmund und ist der Überrest einer antiken Höhle, deren weit geöffnete Mündung in Form eines Torbogens ins Meer ragt, durch den die Atlantikwellen unerbittlich krachen.
Mit solch einzigartigen Merkmalen können Besucher ein solch unglaubliches Spektakel nur bestaunen und die herrlichen Sonnenuntergänge von genau diesem Ort aus genießen.
Neben der Aussichtsplattform finden Besucher ein Restaurant, eine Cafeteria und einige Geschäfte, die lokal hergestellte Produkte verkaufen.

Der westlichste Punkt Europas

Casa das Histórias Paula Rego

2006 wählte die in London lebende Malerin Paula Rego (derzeit die bekannteste portugiesische bildende Künstlerin ihrer Generation) Cascais als Standort für ihr House of Stories, ein Projekt des Architekten Eduardo Souto de Moura.
Die Ausstellung umfasst eine bedeutende Anzahl ihrer Werke sowie einige Werke ihres Mannes Victor Willing, eines 1988 verstorbenen Künstlers und Kritikers.
Mit seinem vielfältigen Parallelprogramm ist das Paula Rego House of Stories eine erstklassige kulturelle Attraktion, die der lokalen Gemeinschaft einen dynamischen und kontinuierlichen Bildungsservice bietet, indem es seine Sammlung kontinuierlich wechselt.
Zu den Einrichtungen gehören eine Cafeteria, eine Buchhandlung mit einer kleinen Bibliothek und ein Auditorium.

Each Tourist Scavenger Hunt is around 40 steps, 2-3 hours in duration on a 3-4km circuit which brings you back to the start.
