Die Geschichte des Städel Museums:
1815 mussten die Fotografie, die Schreibmaschine und das Fahrrad noch erfunden werden. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe schrieb ein Gedicht über das Ginkgoblatt als Symbol für Liebe und Freundschaft, und im Botanischen Garten Frankfurts, dem Palmengarten, wurde eine Rotbuche gepflanzt, die dort noch heute wächst. In diesem Jahr vermachte auch der Frankfurter Bankier und Gewürzhändler Johann Friedrich Städel sein zentral gelegenes Haus am Rossmarkt, seine Kunst- und Büchersammlung und sein gesamtes Vermögen der nach ihm benannten Stiftung. In seinem Testament legte er fest, dass das „Städelsche Kunstinstitut“ als Museum und Kunstschule — die heutige Städelschule — den Menschen in Frankfurt mit sofortiger Wirkung offensteht. Für sein Kunstinstitut wollte er nur das Beste: Die „mittelmäßigen“ Werke seiner Sammlung von rund 500 Gemälden sollten verkauft werden, um Geld für „bessere“ zu sammeln.

During that time, Julie developed a line of dressings and sauces sold to large retail store chains in Canada and Mexico.
In 1989, Julie was a recipient of the 40 Under 40 award. In 2006, Julie was inducted into the BC Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. An invitational organization of women leaders in food and beverage whose mission is further education, scholarship, and philanthropy.
