About us

Als der „Orient Express“ fünf Jahre nach seiner Inbetriebnahme im Jahr 1883 Istanbul erreichte, entstanden bereits die ersten Hotels Istanbuls, und zwar in dem sehr kosmopolitischen, westlich geprägten Teil der Stadt namens „Pera“. Eines dieser Hotels war das „Hotel Buyuk Londra“ oder das „Grand Hotel De Londres“, das bald nach seiner Eröffnung zusammen mit Tokatliyan und Pera Palace seinen Platz unter den besten Hotels Istanbuls einnahm. Das Hotel Buyuk Londra ist eines der wenigen Einrichtungen, die es geschafft haben, von dieser Zeit bis in unsere Zeit zu überleben. Nach vielen Renovierungsarbeiten spiegelt das Hotel dennoch die Atmosphäre der 1900er Jahre wider.
