Dieses 330 Meter lange Viadukt, das unter Denkmalschutz steht, befindet sich in Castlefield, dem ältesten Teil von Manchester, umgeben von 2000 Jahren Geschichte. Das Viadukt wurde 1892 von Heenan und Froude, den gleichen Ingenieuren, die am ikonischen Blackpool Tower gearbeitet haben, erbaut und beförderte bis 1969 Personen- und Güterzüge vom Hauptbahnhof von Manchester und dem Great Northern Warehouse.
Nach der Schließung der Eisenbahnlinie stand das Castlefield Viaduct ungenutzt, wurde aber regelmäßig von den National Highways gewartet. Jetzt hat es seinen Platz im Herzen der Stadt zurückerobert und feiert seine Rolle in der Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft von Manchester, indem es sich in einen „Garten am Himmel“ verwandelt hat, der 2022 eröffnet wurde.

Our initiatives focus on minimising waste, conserving energy and embracing digital solutions. Plastic water bottles are eliminated in favour of large-format dispensers. Reduced HVAC and lighting policies conserve energy during low or no occupancy periods. Digital or reusable signage cuts back on waste, and we also remove single-use items such as notepads, pens and coasters from meeting spaces.
