Die Villa Hügel befindet sich im Essener Vorort Bredeney. Es ist die ehemalige Residenz des Industriemagnaten Alfred Krupp und seiner Familie. Das 1873 fertiggestellte Gebäude wurde von drei Generationen der Familie in den nächsten siebzig Jahren als Wohnhaus und für repräsentative Zwecke genutzt. Seit 1955/6 werden hier regelmäßig große internationale Kunstausstellungen präsentiert. Wenn keine Ausstellungen stattfinden, können Besucher die historischen Räume im Hauptgebäude besichtigen, eine Ausstellung zur Geschichte von Krupp und seiner Firma im Nebengebäude besichtigen und auf dem weitläufigen Gelände neben der Villa entspannen.
