Es wurde im Juni 2005 nach einer kompletten Renovierung eröffnet. Einige berühmte Persönlichkeiten wie Truman Capote und Ava Gardner wohnten im Hotel und daher nennen es manche „Das Hotel der Sterne“. Seine privilegierte Lage macht es zu einem beeindruckenden Aussichtspunkt auf das Meer.
