About us

Chez Charlene is located in Pretoria, South Africa. With its idyllic country setting, this upmarket venue 10 minutes East of Pretoria and only 40 minutes from Johannesburg is a tranquil oasis of breath-taking beauty. With comfortable capacity for 400 guests, smaller functions are equally welcome. This is an all-in-one fully air-conditioned venue with in-house premier quality sound-equipment, lighting, screen and video facilities. These facilities enable you to maximise the venue and adds to the luxurious setting for your event. Our qualified and experienced Sound Engineer can facilitate, to improve and enhance you event, from weddings, corporate launches, to board presentations. The Fine Dining Restaurant is ideal for intimate weddings incorporating a European ambiance with an Arabic Nomad Tent used for garden ceremonies. It comfortably seats up to 100 pax including a dance floor on the outside patio.

The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
