About us

Das Rathaus von Skipton wurde 1862 an der Stelle des ehemaligen Pfarrhauses der Heiligen Dreifaltigkeitskirche erbaut. Die Haupthalle wurde 1878 mit erhöhter Höhe umgebaut und von einer privaten Firma als öffentlicher Veranstaltungsraum betrieben. Das Rathaus von Skipton verfügt über fünf Zimmer, die gemietet werden können. Als der Skipton Urban District Council 1895 gegründet wurde, kaufte er das Gebäude als Rathaus und ersetzte das „Old Town Hall“ an der Sheep Street. Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde an der Vorderseite ein Baldachin aus Glas und verziertem Schmiedeeisen angebracht, das jedoch in den 1950er Jahren abgerissen wurde. 1935 wurde eine Erweiterung errichtet, um die Bürofläche zu vergrößern.
