About us

illa the President is situated in Strand, 50 km east of Cape Town with elevated views of the majestic Helderberg Mountain on one side and the panoramic sea views on the other. We are a fully equipped luxury guesthouse. W e offer a friendly and professional service including breakfast on request. The house has an interesting History which inspired us to its name: Once the home of the late State President, Jim Fouche who was born in the Orange Free State and was a successful farmer, a staunch Republican and a member of the National Party for many years. Fouche served as an Administrator of the Orange Free State from 1954 to 1959 and was promoted to the cabinet, where he served as minister of defence and as minister of agricultural and water affairs. He was elected as the President of South Africa and he established himself in 9 de Jongh Street in Strand, which is now known as the guesthouse Villa the President. This elegant guesthouse accommodation in Strand can now be your holiday home.
