Das Waldhotel Schatten blickt auf eine reiche und spannende Geschichte zurück, die bis ins Jahr 1783 zurückreicht. Sie wurde weit über die Region hinaus berühmt für eine Attraktion, die das Herz aller Rennsportfans höher schlug: Die Solitude-Rennstrecke, mit einer S-Kurve direkt vor dem Hotel, die geradezu berüchtigt war.
