Die eisähnliche Form des Gebäudes wurde bereits in der ersten Phase der Arbeiten als neue Ikone der Stadt gefeiert, und das Internetportal bryla.pl erkannte es als eine der interessantesten Investitionen des Landes an. Das Projekt gewann auch den ersten Preis beim renommierten Wettbewerb Eurobuild Awards 2014 als Architectural Design of the Year. Die Architekten gaben ihr Bestes, um den Kontext des Projekts zu berücksichtigen. Das Gebäude hebt sich durch seine kräftigen Linien und seine Leichtigkeit von seiner Umgebung ab, bildet aber auch ein stimmiges Ganzes mit den neugotischen Gebäuden um ihn herum.
Im Inneren der Philharmonie verbergen sich mehr als 12 000 Quadratmeter Fläche auf vier Stockwerken, zu denen ein Symphoniesaal, ein Kammersaal, Proberäume, ein Musikgeschäft, ein Café, ein großzügiges Foyer, Umkleideräume für Künstler, Lagerräume für Instrumente und Büros gehören.
Der Symphoniesaal, auch bekannt als Sun Hall, bietet Platz für fast 1000 Personen. Die großartige Akustik des Sun Hall stammt aus einer speziellen Geometrie der Wände und der Decke, die von den Architekten zusammen mit Dr. Higini Arau, einem Spezialisten für architektonische Akustik aus Barcelona, entwickelt wurden. Alle Parameter des Symphoniesaals (Stärke, Gleichmäßigkeit des Klangs, Verzögerung und laterale Energieanteile) erzeugen einen Effekt, der mit dem Modell solcher Unternehmungen vergleichbar ist - dem Konzertsaal Musikverein in Wien.
In der für 192 Personen ausgelegten Kammerhalle entspricht die Nachhallzeit dem Projekt bis zur Hundertstelsekunde. Deshalb ist diese Halle als „akustisches Juwel“ bekannt.
Jeden Tag erstrahlt die weiße Fassade der Philharmonie in Hunderten von Farben in verschiedenen Kompositionen. Die feierliche Eröffnung der neuen Halle fand zur Eröffnung der Kunstsaison 2014/2015 statt.
