About us

Das Hotel Tonnara Trabia liegt am Eingang von Trabia, einem Dorf zwischen Palermo und Cefalu, in einer Gegend, die reich an Geschichte und Naturschönheiten ist, in der Nähe der Burg Principi Lanza. Es wurde nach einer sorgfältigen Restaurierung der antiken Tonnara aus dem 16. Jahrhundert geboren, wo zwischen Mai und Juni die antike Zeremonie der sogenannten „Mattanza“ stattfand, ein grausames, aber faszinierendes Thunfischfischen, das wurde nach der genauen Reihenfolge der Rais hergestellt und von Liedern begleitet, deren Rhythmus das Fischen betonte. Das Hotel ist das ganze Jahr über geöffnet und besteht aus 114 Zimmern, die mit modernen Einrichtungen ausgestattet sind. Das Hotel ist ein idealer Ort für Tagungen und Konferenzen. Die Konferenzräume des Hotels eignen sich ideal für Tagungen mit maximal 250 Personen. Das Hotel verfügt über 2 Konferenzräume für geschäftliche Veranstaltungen.

We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
