Das ursprüngliche Gebäude von Zamek Krolewski, wie es vor Ort genannt wird, stammt aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Aber wie ein Großteil Warschaus wurde es im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört. Es wurde wieder aufgebaut und rekonstruiert und um seine Zukunft zu sichern, wurde es zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe erklärt. Historisch gesehen war das Königsschloss die offizielle Residenz der polnischen Monarchie und dieses atemberaubende Schloss erregte den Neid eines Großteils Europas. Als Polen die Unabhängigkeit erlangte, wurde es die offizielle Residenz des Präsidenten. Heute ist das Königsschloss ein öffentlich zugängliches Nationalmuseum.

Der Kultur- und Wissenschaftspalast ist nicht nur eine beliebte Touristenattraktion, sondern auch eines der dominierenden Merkmale und Wahrzeichen der Warschauer Skyline. Es ist nach wie vor das höchste Gebäude in Polen und mit 231 Metern eines der höchsten in Europa. Dieser Kulturpalast in Warschau wurde Gebäuden wie dem Empire State Building nachempfunden und von Joseph Stalin in Auftrag gegeben. Erstaunlicherweise wurde es in nur drei Jahren gebaut und 1955 fertiggestellt. Obwohl der Palast ikonisch ist, ist er für viele Einheimische umstritten und erinnert an die sowjetische Herrschaft. Trotz des Namens ist das Gebäude eigentlich kein Wissenschaftszentrum, aber dennoch einen Besuch wert.
